Teacher first.
Still in the building.
I'm Joseph Roman-Torres. Assistant principal, doctoral candidate, and the person behind IgniteEd.

From Puerto Rico. Working in Dallas.
English and Spanish
13 years in Texas K-12.
A campus week at a time.
I'm from Puerto Rico. I started in bilingual, ESL, and special education classrooms, then moved into ESL and special education leadership. I'm now in my seventh year as an administrator.
For 2026–27, I serve Texans Can Pleasant Grove and Oak Cliff, alternating weeks between two Dallas campuses. That makes protecting coaching time a practical problem every week.
I build walkthrough protocols, coaching cycles, behavior systems, and progress monitoring tools because I need them in the building. IgniteEd is where I share that work with other campus leaders.
Practice shapes the work.
